For generations, the societal contribution of the Desi Aunty was strictly boxed into the domestic sphere or localized community networks.

It involves intricate financial budgeting, supply chain management (sourcing specific spices, grains, and textiles), event planning for hundreds of guests, and conflict resolution across multi-generational households.
