The narrative of El Perfume de Cupido feels exactly like a lost arc from the original manga. Nicky Larson (Ryo Saeba), played by Lacheau himself, and Laura Marconi (Kaori Makimura), played by Élodie Fontan, are hired for a highly unusual security detail.
One of the biggest hurdles in anime-to-live-action adaptations is translating cartoonish visual gags into real life. In the anime, Kaori famously conjures a massive 100-ton mallet out of thin air to smash Ryo whenever he behaves inappropriately.
