The macros listed in Table 3.2.20- 3.2.23 can be used to return real face variables in SI units. They are identified by the F_ prefix. Note that these variables are available only in the pressure-based solver. In addition, quantities that are returned are available only if the corresponding physical model is active. For example, species mass fraction is available only if species transport has been enabled in the Species Model dialog box in ANSYS FLUENT. Definitions for these macros can be found in the referenced header files (e.g., mem.h).
Face Centroid (
F_CENTROID)
The macro listed in Table 3.2.20 can be used to obtain the real centroid of a face. F_CENTROID finds the coordinate position of the centroid of the face f and stores the coordinates in the x array. Note that the x array is always one-dimensional, but it can be x[2] or x[3] depending on whether you are using the 2D or 3D solver.
The ND_ND macro returns 2 or 3 in 2D and 3D cases, respectively, as defined in Section 3.4.2. Section 2.3.15 contains an example of F_CENTROID usage.
Face Area Vector (
F_AREA)
F_AREA can be used to return the real face area vector (or `face area normal') of a given face f in a face thread t. See Section 2.7.3 for an example UDF that utilizes F_AREA.
By convention in ANSYS FLUENT, boundary face area normals always point out of the domain. ANSYS FLUENT determines the direction of the face area normals for interior faces by applying the right hand rule to the nodes on a face, in order of increasing node number. This is shown in Figure 3.2.1.
ANSYS FLUENT assigns adjacent cells to an interior face ( c0 and c1) according to the following convention: the cell out of which a face area normal is pointing is designated as cell C0, while the cell in to which a face area normal is pointing is cell c1 (Figure 3.2.1). In other words, face area normals always point from cell c0 to cell c1.
Flow Variable Macros for Boundary Faces
The macros listed in Table 3.2.22 access flow variables at a boundary face.
The sound that came through wasn't music. It was silence. But it wasn't digital silence—the absolute zero of audio data. It was the sound of a room. A large, cold room. He could hear the faint hum of an amplifier, the distant hiss of a radiator.
Porcupine Tree’s discography is a masterclass in musical evolution, transitioning from a satirical solo psych-rock project into one of the most influential forces in modern progressive rock and metal. The Psychedelic Origins (1987–1995)
When you see "PMed" (Private Messaged) or "Fixed" in a forum title, it usually refers to unofficial distribution. Be cautious:
For a band like Porcupine Tree, where songs rely on dynamic range, subtle acoustic textures, and gapless transitions, having a "fixed" FLAC copy is crucial for proper listening. Eras of Porcupine Tree: The Sonic Evolution
The Porcupine Tree discography spans several distinct eras. Here is how to navigate each era to find the best-sounding, dynamically fixed FLAC versions. 1. The Early Delerium Years (1991–1997) porcupine tree discography flac songs pmed fixed
In their later years, specifically with the conceptual depth of Fear of a Blank Planet and the 2022 return Closure/Continuation , the band solidified their legacy. These albums are masterclasses in tension and release, dealing with themes of modern alienation and technological overload.
When a lossless discography is labeled as "fixed," it means the uploader corrected technical flaws that ruined the original listening experience. In progressive rock, these fixes are vital. Common corrections include: 1. Sector Alignment and Seamless Gaps

Ensuring all tracks, album art, and meta-data are correctly filled out for high-resolution libraries. The sound that came through wasn't music
Sharing a cleaned-up collection of Porcupine Tree discography (FLAC) — all tracks full-resolution, verified checksums, properly tagged and ordered. PM for links.
However, downloading such files is piracy. Worse, “fixed” unofficial rips may still contain transcodes (MP3s converted to FLAC), clipping, or incorrect tags.
In 2014, Porcupine Tree announced their reunion, with a series of live performances and a new album, , scheduled for release. Although not officially released, the band has been touring and performing live, playing a mix of old and new material.
These are the band’s most famous works. In Absentia and Deadwing originally suffered from the "Loudness Wars" on CD, featuring heavy brickwall limiting. Audiophiles frequently seek out the high-resolution 24-bit 5.1 surround sound downmixes or the 2020 Deluxe Edition remasters , which restored a massive amount of dynamic breathing room to the tracks. 4. The Return (2022–Present) Closure / Continuation . It was the sound of a room
Live recordings like Anesthetize are phenomenal in FLAC, making you feel as though you are in the audience. Key Eras of the Porcupine Tree Discography
To get the most out of your audio experience, your FLAC collection should include not just the studio albums, but also key live performances and EPs, which often feature different mixes or extended versions of songs.
: The first album recorded as a full band, bridging ambient soundscapes with rock energy.
A reputable FLAC collection ensures proper album art, track ordering, and artist metadata, making library management effortless.
A 17-minute epic featuring a guitar solo by Alex Lifeson of Rush. The middle metal section will test your system's transient response, while the ambient outro tests spatial imaging.
See Section 2.7.3 for an example UDF that utilizes some of these macros.
Flow Variable Macros at Interior and Boundary Faces
The macros listed in Table 3.2.23 access flow variables at interior faces and boundary faces.
F_FLUX can be used to return the real scalar mass flow rate through a given face f in a face thread t. The sign of F_FLUX that is computed by the ANSYS FLUENT solver is positive if the flow direction is the same as the face area normal direction (as determined by F_AREA - see Section 3.2.4), and is negative if the flow direction and the face area normal directions are opposite. In other words, the flux is positive if the flow is out of the domain, and is negative if the flow is in to the domain.
Note that the sign of the flux that is computed by the solver is opposite to that which is reported in the ANSYS FLUENT GUI (e.g., the Flux Reports dialog box).
