Since the official Ross-Tech software (VCDS) is designed for their licensed cables (which cost $200+), using a $10 clone cable with their software is legally grey and often technically limited.
Some KKL cables come with a mini‑CD containing driver files. If you have such a disc, or if you downloaded a “Driver Pack 1” or “Driver Pack 2”, you can use the following procedure.
Extract the downloaded package and run SETUP.EXE (or the installer executable). Follow the instructions. In some cases, you may need to disable driver signature verification (see Troubleshooting section).
In Device Manager, look for USB‑Serial CH340 (COMx) under Ports (COM & LPT) .
