After Cal shoots at Jack and Rose in the sinking grand staircase, he realizes he left his massive diamond, the Heart of the Ocean, in the pocket of the coat he gave to Rose. Cal tells Lovejoy that if he can find Jack and Rose, he can keep the diamond. Lovejoy tracks them into the flooded dining saloon. A brutal, physical fistfight ensues between Jack and Lovejoy, ending with Jack smashing Lovejoy’s head through a glass window.
