A patched game is a stable game. The final v1.6 patch brought significant improvements, so ensuring your CODEX installation is up-to-date is a key step.
To prevent the game from defaulting to another language (like Russian or French), delete or rename existing localization files (e.g., local_ru.pack ). You can rename them by adding an underscore, such as _local_ru.pack .
Paste local_en.pack and local_en_rome2.pack directly into this folder.
If you see files named local_ru.pack or local_es.pack instead, your installation files are localized for a different region. 2. Manual File Replacement
